SUBJECT: Purefoy PTA November 2018 Newsletter


 

Purefoy Families,

As we gear up for the holiday season, please make sure you continue to check the Purefoy PTA Website for all the fun the PTA and Purefoy has planned for the season!  

We cannot thank you enough for your support in making our Fall events so wonderful.  From Concert in the Courtyard to Fun Run to Spirit Night at Jersey Mike's.  These events are not a success without YOU!  

The Fun Run was a huge success and LOTS of fun!  We are still collecting money and Friday, November 9th is the last day to earn tickets for some great prizes.  For every $25 raised, a student will earn a ticket into a drawing for prizes that includes tickets to FC Dallas, a Frisco Athletic Center family membership, an electric scooter, Rough Rider tickets, and more!

If you are looking for ways to become involved with the PTA, please keep checking for open Volunteer Opportunities posted on our website.  Also, please make sure you have JOINED the Purefoy PTA!  We always strive to achieve One Voice for Every Child and rely on you to make this happen!

Principal's Note 

We want to thank our amazing PTA for hosting the Concert in the Courtyard.  It is always such a fun, family event!  We always love every opportunity to get to know our Purefoy Families and appreciate you coming out! 

We also enjoyed the Fun Run this past Friday!  Everyone did an amazing job raising pledges!  We hope you had the opportunity to come out during your child's run and cheer them on.

Please check your child’s grade level newsletter every week to see what is happening in their classroom.  As always, thank you for being a partner in your child’s education.

Diversibility Days

Celebrating what makes us all unique and special!  Diversibility Days will take place January 16 &17.  Each class will rotate through stations and we need help to make this successful. Please keep checking HERE to watch for volunteer opportunities.

 

Multi-Cultural Night

We are currently recruiting anyone who would be willing to share their culture at a table for Multi-Cultural Night.  For more details and contact information, please check out the Multi-Cultural page on our website.

VOLUNTEER OF THE MONTH


Our Volunteer of the Month for November is LAUREN BOWMAN!

Lauren serves as Purefoy PTA’s Book Fair Chair. She worked incredibly hard this year and had an extremely successful book fair!  Gathering an amazing team of volunteers, they decorated the halls, set up the fair and helped our students find and purchase great books! Thank you, Lauren, for all you have done for Purefoy! 

We could not do what we do without our wonderful volunteers!  Each event, gathering, show or celebration happens because of the help you so generously provide!


 

HAVE YOU JOIN THE PUREFOY PTA?!


Our goal this year is to have one voice (PTA member) for all 521 students at Purefoy.  These voices allow the Texas PTA lobbyists to speak on our student and teachers’ behalf in regard to public school finance reform, school safety, literacy rates, lowering the high stakes nature of STAAR and more.  

We are about 40 memberships short of our goal.  We would love to have you, your grandparents, your neighbors and your community leaders as members of the Purefoy PTA.
