What is WATCH D.O.G.S. (Dads Of Great Students)?
WATCH D.O.G.S. (Dads Of Great Students) are fathers, grandfathers, uncles, and other father-figures who volunteer at Purefoy as part of an initiative to increase father involvement and provide positive male role models for the students, demonstrating by their presence that education is important.
What do WATCH D.O.G.S. do while volunteering?
During the day, Watch D.O.G.S. may read and work on flash cards with students, play at recess, eat lunch with your student(s,) patrol the school entrances and hallways, help with carpool and any other assigned activities where they actively engage with not only their own students, but other students as well. There are many other opportunities for WATCH D.O.G.S. to assist throughout the school year, such as fun run, book fair, carnival, family fun night, field day and so much more!
How do I become a WATCH D.O.G?
All Watch D.O.G.S. must complete a FISD background check and be a member of Purefoy PTA to volunteer. The calendar to sign up is below.
***Steps to complete before sign-up***
1) Complete your FISD Background Check
FISD Background Check Form
Select the Watch Dog category on the Background Check Form so your time can be properly recorded
2) MAKE SURE YOU ARE A PTA MEMBER
(IT IS A FRISCO ISD POLICY FOR PTA MEMBERSHIP DUE TO LIABILITY REASONS)
3) Optional - ORDER T-SHIRT
(Delivered in about 3 days to your home)
Please make sure that step one and two are completed two weeks prior to your selected day. We ask that you only sign up for 1 day for the entire school year. This is to ensure we get as many dads who want to participate as possible.
Please note that the only way to get on the Watch Dog calendar is through our website. The Purefoy front office is no longer able to schedule for Watch Dogs.
And a special thanks to our WatchDog Party Sponsor!
Thanks for volunteering,
