For the first time the Purefoy PTA is proud to announce that we will be sponsoring a Holiday Shop.

WHEN?

WHAT IS A HOLIDAY SHOP?

It is a pop-up shop within our school that will offer over 100 gifts that children can purchase for their family from .25 up to $20. There will be gifts for every member of the family including, parents, grandparents, siblings, etc.

The holiday shop allows kids to take ownership of gift giving and be proud to give their family a surprise that they select themselves.
It is a great excuse to encourage your children to earn money. Some ideas on how they can earn money to shop include: make their bed, help bring in the groceries, help a sibling with a project, feed the dog or assist grandparents with chores.
The holiday shop also teaches children to budget and shop responsibility.
IT IS FUN and allows kids to get in the holiday spirit of giving!

Prior to the shop opening, your child will be sent home with a budgeting envelope. It will allow you to sit down with them to determine who they will be shopping for and how much they will spend on each person. You will insert cash within the envelope and return it to school with your child so that he/she may shop with their class.
We will be looking for parent volunteers who have completed the background check to assist in this shopping process but we would encourage you to allow your child to shop with a different volunteer to maintain the element of surprise.
When you receive your gift, we encourage you to ask your child why they selected that particular gift because most times it is very well thought out and they will be excited to tell you!

Please sign up to help with a shift at the Holiday Shop! This is going to be fun!!! We need help assisting students shopping, keeping them on budget and checking out. The students will be so proud when they are finished. Consider asking your child they would prefer you assisting another class so they can shop for you and keep it a surprise.
